When you discover another a tax return has been filed with your Social Security number, you’ll use IRS Form 14039 to alert the IRS. When you complete this form, you’ll indicate that someone has stolen your identity and it has affected your tax account since they have filed a return using your identifying information. You’ll also provide information about the tax year affected and the last return you filed prior to the identity theft.
After you complete Form 14039, mail it to the IRS with a copy of your Social Security card and driver’s license. If you don’t have a driver’s license, you can substitute a U.S. Passport, military ID or other government-issued identification card.
If you received an IRS notice concerning the fraudulent return, include a copy of the notice. Mail the form and documents to the address shown in your notice.
If you did not receive an IRS notice, mail your documents to:
Internal Revenue Service
P.O. Box 9039
Andover, MA 01810-0939
I think my ex girlfriend filed my taxes illegally with fake w2 fprms how do I find out and stop and stop it
You cannot find out--the IRS will not tell you. But prepare your own correct tax return. Since someone has already used your SSN, you will not be able to e-file. Print, sign and mail it and let the IRS sort it out.
My adopted mom filed my taxes without my permission let alone me knowing. So I want to prosecute her I didn't even get the money either so she's probably also getting my stimulus money ... Her name is Glenda Achtziger . please help me because I really needed this money to pay my probation that is past few#
I filed the paperwork over 6 months ago and I still haven’t heard anything
MAILED RETURNS
Per the IRS:
COVID-19 Mail Processing Delays
It’s taking us longer to process mailed documents including:
We are processing all mail in the order we received it.
Do not file a second tax return or call the IRS.
It can take 3-4 weeks (or a LOT longer since the IRS is severely backlogged) for anything to show up on the IRS site when you mail a tax return. Expect at least 6-8 weeks for complete processing of a mailed return and probably MUCH MUCH longer.
If you mail a tax return (or a payment) to the IRS, it is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it like UPS or certified mail so you will know it was received.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.
TurboTax will not know anything about your mailed return, and will continue to show “Ready to Mail” on your account. TurboTax will not know that you put your tax return in an envelope and took it to a mailbox. TurboTax does not get updates on mailed (or e-filed) returns.
When the IRS opens its mail and begins to process mailed returns you can check the status on the IRS site. https://www.irs.gov/refunds
State returns have to be mailed to the state.

If you are wondering if you should send your return again——the IRS does not want you to file a second time. Putting two tax returns into the system at the same time can lead to confusion and even more delays. If you did not use tracking and do not know if the return was received—-you have to make your own judgement call and decide if you want to risk further delay by sending the return again.

What do you mean your taxes were stolen? Did you e-file your tax return or do you need to e-file your tax return?
You have to sign onto your 2020 online account using the exact same User ID you used to create the online account.
Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one). Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.
Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the User ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery
If none of the user ID's received will access your 2020 account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
To access your prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

If she filed a tax return jointly with your Social Security number then it would have been filed as Married Filing Jointly and if you were not legally married then the return was filed fraudulently.
You can go to the IRS website for tax transcripts and use your Social Security number to see if the IRS has a return with your SSN - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
If you are a victim of Identity Theft you can submit a Form 4506-F for a copy of the fraudulent tax return - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506f.pdf
IRS website for suspected tax fraud - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/how-do-you-report-suspected-tax-fraud-activity
this is a public forum. we do not prepare your taxes returns. as a matter of fact, if she used Turbotax then she prepared the prior returns not TurboTax
if you were not married or in a legally recognized common law marriage, she probably committed a criminal act by filing joint returns. you need to file your own returns for the open years - 2017 and prior are closed if no extension was filed. file form 14039 to prevent her from filing a joint return in future years. file form 3949-A to report false returns filed by her to IRS. but really I suggest you work with a tax pro to get your taxes straightened out.
Received a email from turbo tax saying it %50 percent ready, and my w2 was taken from my work computer, as well as my phone was breached then broken.
