Refund

It is May 9, 2020. My refund was filed and then accepted by turbotax on February 24. I filed using direct deposit into the same bank as I have used for years. Same dependants, same everything. Already recieved my stimulus.  Why haven't I recieved my Turbotax refund yet??? Already used the IRS tool, and everything was correct, but nothing has changed in over 2 months now.

Refund

Waiting is frustrating—refunds are taking longer in many cases.  These are not normal times.  It is not possible for TurboTax to speed up the IRS for you.  It seems to be taking longer than usual for them to process returns.  They are short staffed; and they are processing millions of tax returns at the same time that they have been burdened with the task of processing millions of stimulus checks.  The IRS is not taking calls right now.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

Refund

I had a similar problem. I've been checking in to ftb.ca.gov regarding my refund and all I get back is that they don't have my return. I had E-Filed the state return and was charged for it on my credit card. The good news (that took me a week to get to is that, even though turbotax told me my return was sent, it wasn't. Why not? It turns out the return was not actually filed because I made an error in interpreting the tax lingo on one form.

Possible Solution: Open your return and try to file it again. When you finally reach the file button (after all the re-checking of the return), click it. Instead of your return being sent you might get a request to redo something in a form. That would be one way to find out why your refund hasn't arrived. It applied to my situation, at least. And I don't yet know if my correction and re-file submission is going to work. But it may be something you can try.  Good luck!
