My refund of $5,624 was rejected by my bank on February 22, 2024. Turbo tax received the money and took out their $202 fee, to send only $5,422 back to the IRS. That truly confused the IRS, because they can only search for a refund that matches the full amount on my tax return.
Or I can wait 6-months.
Please help.

When your refund is rejected by the bank, it is sent back to the IRS. The IRS will then send a paper check to the address on your return.
When will I get my federal tax refund?
Actually- no they won't. Since they can't find that your bank (Turbo Tax's bank) returned an amount that is different than the original refund amount- (because the fees were collected) they will not refund the money with a paper check, until 6+ months. That what the IRS told me, anyway. It's not their "policy" to search for refunds that are different amounts, than what was originally sent. This is a HUGE issue.
You may consider using the Taxpayer Advocate Service that assists taxpayers with IRS issues.
I need to know what I'm suppose to do if they are saying that TurboTax has it
TurboTax does not have your refund. TurboTax never had your refund. If the bank rejected your refund, the IRS has your money, not TurboTax. I suggest you call the IRS again, you may not have received accurate information. As PatriciaV mentioned, you may want to contact the independent Taxpayer Advocate Service.
Actually it’s 120 days that’s not 6 months …I hate that they give misleading information
Get them to release the funds back to the irs
