How would you remove the CA tax returns from Turbotax online version? While filing there is an option where it says "File later". So I pick that option and leave federal as "e-File". I was thinking i'll send my CA return separately via mail because of this form 568. But the same "Transmission didn't go through" message appears. Do I need to download the software to remove CA form?

Same validation issue, with the 568 form which cannot be e-file for California, I get the same error (invalid agency ID) when trying to only E-file federal.

In this instance, you would want to delete your State return  and re-do it. You can use the link provided below for assistance with skipping your state return for later:

Even after clicking on  I'm not ready to file as mentioned in Step 2, the transmission is failing.

No - you have to actually remove the California state forms from your return to be able to e-file the federal return. I don't think it's enough to leave the CA forms in there and take the "file later" path. The CA forms have to be gone. See the previous comments in this thread about how to remove the CA forms. The instructions are slightly different for Windows and Mac users.

Thank you for your excellent help!  It worked perfectly, exactly as you explained. I deleted the California return, e-filed federal, then added California back in.  It allowed me to print the form 568 and e-file CA.  Really glad for this forum and for your post.

I agree, wanted to insure for next year's return to be a much smoother transition. And i have reviewed my forms and not discover any errors? any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you're hit with this error and it's because of a California Form 568, the way to fix it (and have both Federal and State returns eFiled successfully online) is to remove just form 568 from TurboTax. I found a really easy way to do it. 

(1) Save / print a copy of Form 568 from TurboTax, so you don't have to reproduce it for later for when you send it in by mail.

(2) Go to the question in TurboTax where it asks whether you have only a Single Member LLC. Say "NO," even though the answer is yes. This will remove Form 568.

(3) eFile again, submitting both state and federal. Both will now be accepted.

(4) File Form 568 by mail.

Thanks for this description... any chance you know where to find that question about being a single member LLC... I'm struggling to locate it after going back through all those sections.

My Federal return submitted without any problems. My state return is experiencing this issue. I have no errors on any form.

This is the first year this has happened.

@dougofclt  It's possible that you have State forms included in your return that are not yet ready for e-filing.  Refer to the following Help Article to check when forms will be available: State forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products
