Your Transmission Didn't Go Through - Validation Fail

Try deleting your browser's cookies. Please see this Turbo Tax FAQ regarding  How to delete cookies! If that doesn't work, try using a different browser all together.

Follow the steps for your product below to ensure you get the help you need from the right person. We're open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM PT.

TurboTax Online

  1. Sign in to TurboTax Online
  2. Select the Help icon from the menu to open the TurboTax Assistant
  3. Enter your question, or type in Talk to a specialist
  4. Follow the prompts to set up a call
    • Free Edition (without PLUS): When you select Talk to a specialist, you'll be asked to add PLUS benefits first

The above is the most efficient way for you to connect with the right person. If you still need help, you can contact us at (800) 446-8848.

TurboTax mobile app

Note: If you're using TurboTax on your mobile device's browser, use the TurboTax Online instructions instead.

The TurboTax mobile app uses SmartLookTM technology to connect you with a support specialist. You can also opt for a callback:

  1. Sign in to the mobile app and select the question mark in the corner to open the TurboTax Assistant
  2. If you're using the iOS app, type in Talk to a specialist and follow the prompts to be connected
    • Free Edition (without PLUS): When you select Talk to a specialist, you'll be asked to add PLUS benefits first
    • Select Continue connecting me to a person and follow the prompts to schedule your call.
  3. If you're using the Android app, select Get live help and enter your question
    • Free Edition (without PLUS): When you select Get live help, you'll be asked to add PLUS benefits first
    • If the information provided isn't helpful, select No, I still need live help
    • Select Connect me to connect via SmartLookTM. A TurboTax specialist will connect to your screen and guide you
    • Select No thanks if you want a callback instead
    • If you selected No thanks, be sure to also tap OK, sounds good to set up a callback

TurboTax CD/Download software

  1. Go to our Contact us page
  2. Select your product and edition, ask your question, then select Continue
  3. Enter your contact info, then select Get the phone number

My North Carolina taxes were having the same issue. I later learned that the e-file forms had yet been ready by the state. Once they were, my return transmitted as normal.

 

You may wish to check that out. (Sorry if vague but I'm not A CPA.)

Your Transmission Didn't Go Through - Validation Fail

MY Solution was as simple as changing my Default Browser.......

 

I just ran into this Failed-Verification error for the first time - Federal & State of California - Individual returns - no business schedules.   After trying several suggestions in this thread - I still hit the error at the time I tried to e-file the returns.    

1)  I checked the FORM pages and there were no red ! - identifying any errors

2)  Double checked employer ID & State/Local ID #s from the W-2s - all good there

3)  I updated Turbo Tax (again) - nothing more there

Still I got the errors each time.....

so then....

1)  I unmarked the "e-file state return" and marked to e-file later 

2)  After that I was able to e-file the Federal - no problem - but Not the State

3)  After checking that all the Drivers License info was correct (as required by CA) - it still failed

 

Just shy of deleting all the state info & starting over -

I simply changed BROWSERS from Google Chrome to Edge and tried one more time - SUCCESS !!!!

 

Hope others have success with trying the Browser switch first and save themselves some time!!

Try changing your default browser to a different browser.   I had California return e-file issues - failed Verification - and after trying LOTS of the suggestions here - I finally had success by changing browsers.   Good luck!
