@NottaTaxGuru Once you have entered all of your federal income, deductions and Other Tax Situations you will be in the Federal Review section of the program. After completing Federal Review the refund/taxes due indicator should be available. Click on Explain my taxes on the top left of the online program screen.
I had the same problem--it shows up after you review your federal return and click to start state. I just went back to deductions and it stayed up there. Such a stupid design...they need to go back to the way it was!
Here's an example of one issue that affects the Refund Meter display.
When you open your return, this is the normal view with the refund meter showing:
Clicking on the " < " symbol causes the refund meter to disappear:
Clicking on the reversed " > " symbol should bring the refund meter back up again.
SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE? WOW. I will not be using TT after this year. I have been with them for 15 years. They are suppose to improve not take away one of the best features.
Running totals are very helpful as a gauge. When you fill out a form with a pencil, you can see where you are vis a vis, where you expect be. When you are simply answering questions out of context (as one does when using the online version of TT), you are flying blind and have no idea of the big picture (this is why running totals are useful). I think you are taking it away because some people don't understand that the running totals are misleading until all of the data is entered. I understand that it must be frustrating to answer questions from angry people that don't understand how the system works, and, I get it, that it is easier from your perspective to not have running totals. Just wanted to let you know that this will be my last year with turbo tax if you don't bring back the useful feature that I relied on.
