why did you file with the wrong filing status? if you answered the questions correctly in the interview process for your dependent(s) then Turbotax would have selected head of household. so either you don't qualify or you are continuing to answer some question(s) incorrectly so Turbotax concludes you are not eligible, contact support

Because it only asks me if I'm single or married etc to then try to guess what I should file as. Then it takes me through an entire flow that assumes its guess was correct and guides me to the quickest checkout possible. Instead of doing that it should start the question at the top of every tax gorm by asking me directly if I am single, Head of household, married etc. Then it should verify that my selection is correct with questions, again, not guess what I should file under based on marital status.
If it let you pick head of household without asking questions to see if that was the correct filing status there are too many people who would select head of household to get the larger deduction, even though they did not qualify for it.
Did you claim a qualifying dependent? You cannot file as HOH if the dependent is a GF or BF, the children of a BF or GF. So....you entered something incorrectly in My Info, or you do not qualify to file as HOH.

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.
The interview firsts asks for your MARITAL status and then as you complete the MY INFO section and if you enter a qualifying child the option to choose the HOH filing status will be presented. If it is not then either you do NOT qualify or you are answering something incorrectly. Two of the most common mistakes are entering the wrong months the child lived with you especially if it is a new born OR saying the CHILD pays more than 50% of their own support. I would delete the child and enter them again from scratch making sure to read every word on every screen carefully ... sometimes reading them out loud will help you understand the question.
