It appears the Form 8915F is going to be available on March 9, 2023. Please see the Forms Availability Chart in this TurboTax FAQ. Use Form 8915-F if you were adversely impacted by the coronavirus or affected by a qualified 2020 or later disaster.
It has been pushed back 4 times it was suppose to be available on 2/16/23 than 2/24/23 than 3/2/23 now 3/9/2023 and the IRS website says its available so I am wondering why I am having to wait 2 months to file my taxes. I will look to fill somewhere else next year
It would be necessary to contact Customer Support for an explanation as we do not have access to that information in this public forum. We only have access to form availability information, such as release dates and if the forms are supported through e-file.
This error is not correctable on the software by users, when will this error be corrected in the software?
There are two options to fix your Form 8915-F as outlined by @DanaB27 below:
Please try these steps to fix the rejection issue:
Another option is to delete "Form 8915-F" and "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" and then go back to the retirement section and reenter the information:
See link below for more information:
It would not do any of that A turbo Tax Representative said I had to mail in my return
As it is a Corona virus for 2020
You do not need to mail in your return. The error occurs with individuals who have started their return before the form was available. The form is available now. The easiest way to fix the error is, as HopeS stated above, and delete the 8915 form and then reenter the form. I have listed her instructions below:
Delete "Form 8915-F" and "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" and then go back to the retirement section and reenter the information:
These steps should allow the rejection to be removed and the return to be e-filed. If you complete these steps and are still having issues, please respond to this thread.
