EDIT: I see this has been suggested on the 2nd page of replies - apologies for the duplicate suggestion
Still an issue in Premier 2023. I have worked around it by using a simple AutoHotKey script. I paste my password into the script, then press the shortcut key to run the script while my cursor is on the password field in TurboTax.
Here is an example script I used:
^j::
Send, my_password_here
return
replace my_password_here with your actual password, then press ctrl+j while your cursor is active in the TurboTax password field - it will auto-fill it.
This is not a problem with their online version, just the local version. And it annoys me that a commercial software package with a LONG history of success should fail their customers so ingloriously.
Stunned that CTRL+V is STILL not possible with TurboTax Premier 2023!!
no that does not work!
Yes, this is a pointless limitation. See possible workaround on Windows using Microsoft PowerToys: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/workaround-turbotax-blocking-password-pas[product...
Yes, in 2024 this problem still exists. Unfortunately, my downloads are significant and entering my password generated password is cumbersome and error prone. Years of comments about Intuit not caring and not a single response from them. Appreciate the users putting in possible workarounds but they should not be necewssary.
Well said, Amen
Business must be very good for Intuit. This problem has gone on for years, Intuit won't address the problem nor provide any explanation. If they were concerned about their customer base they would not be so cavalier about this extremely annoying problem.
It's 2024 and by the looks of it, this a years-old complaint that has not been fixed. Time to find alternatives since Intuit doesn't listen.
I have to tell you. In all other aspects, Intuit and TurboTax are great. Their customer support is outstanding. It’s just on this subject that they seem to spiral off the planet.
