Where do I report interest from U.S. Treasury Obligations?

This will be entered in the Wages and Income section under Interest.

Here is the best way to get to this area in TurboTax:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account
  2. Click on Search in the upper right corner next to the magnifying glass
  3. Type 1099-INT
  4. Click the Jump To link in the search results
  5. Click Add/Edit

The 1099-INT showing interest on Treasury Obligations notes that the interest is referenced to Box 3. The Turbo Tax interest input area only has an input for Box 1.

How can I get to Box 3 for interest on Treasury Obligations?

There is a small box on the page which you have to click on. My form has information in more than one box. Once you click on it, the page will open up to desired box you are looking for, namely; Box 3 - Savings bonds and treasury int.
