When will the 2021 8915-f form be available on Turbo Tax to efile?

Skip TurboTax - I filed yesterday on FreeTaxUSA for sixteen dollars, including the 8915f form (TurboTax didnt even ASK me about this and I almost filed without it !!)  I've been loyal to TT for years and after being given the runaround three times by support, I tried FreeTaxUSA and I'll never go back to TT!!

It's definitely TurboTax.

My Federal and State taxes were accepted same day.

Wouldn't that be great if it did?  However, it never even ASKED me about this and (thank god) I got an error when trying to pay for the (rising) TurboTax fees!  Then I do some more research and find that I needed this form!!  OY

Looks like we may not have any other choice.  I’m stuck on waiting on 8915A-T 2016 that’s not even listed on forms.  I’ve called, chatted and no one can help.

The Form 8915-A is included in the TurboTax software for tax year 2021 although it is not showing in the IRS forms availability list.

Were you adversely affected by a 2016 disaster and you received a distribution that qualifies for favorable tax treatment?  If not, then see if you can delete the Form 8915-A from your tax return.

Using the TurboTax online editions -

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

Yes we were effect by flood, and we are being held up by this form right now.  The TT software does not find the specific form for 2016, so we are in limbo.  Something TT should fix on their side I suppose.  I shouldn’t have to delete if form available.

Then you should be using the Form 8915-A when it becomes available.  I think not having that form listed on the IRS forms list is probably an oversight and the availability for the form will probably follow the same date for being available as the other forms 8915, 03/31/2022.

I will let the TurboTax Moderators know that the Form 8915-A is not on the IRS forms list.

The TT website still says 3/31/2022 is when we can expect it? Do you know if we will have to wait that long? I am wondering if I should wait or find another service. Thanks

We've all been asking that question for days... I've called several times, asked on here. The only date given this far is 3/31. I went ahead and filed with a different company that already has the 8915 form software available. I would have rather stayed with TT since I've been with them for so long but with their inconsistencies and long wait times to have their stuff updated, I got fed up. I ended up going with FreeTaxUSA and it was only $6.99 and super easy. I'm just glad to have it done now

Would be happy to do that but they do not do tax returns for people like myself with Foreign addresses

On this thread one staff member said wit would only be a couple days now that the IRS released it. Is that correct?
