Download the PDF of the 2018 online tax return. There will be a Postmark Report included in the PDF which will have the date/time the tax return was transmitted and the date it was accepted by the IRS, if accepted by the IRS.
To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
See this TurboTax support FAQ for accessing prior year online tax returns - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/01/270...
After you file you should get 2 emails--the first saying the return had been transmitted, followed by a second email saying if the return was accepted or rejected.
Did your efiled return reject? Or was the efile process never completed?
What tax year is the IRS referring to ? And did you get the original refund from that return ?
As long as you transmitted your return before 11:59 PM on the day taxes were due, your return is considered timely filed even if it doesn't get accepted until after the deadline.
You can show you e-filed before the deadline using an Electronic Postmark, which is a time stamp that shows when your return was transmitted. You can find it in TurboTax. See below for instructions on how to find it for your current or prior year return.
(If you're concerned because you haven't yet received your refund, there are many reasons why a refund may be delayed, even if you filed on time.)
TurboTax Online and mobile app
Simply check your e-file status online (you’ll need your Social Security number and zip code) to retrieve your filing status history. You can then capture a screenshot or print it out from your web browser.
If the link above doesn't work, follow these steps:
TurboTax CD/Download software
For returns before the current year that you e-filed with TurboTax:
As long as you transmitted your return before midnight on April 17, 2018, your return is considered timely filed even if it doesn't get accepted until after the deadline.
Your Electronic Postmark is a way you can prove that you e-filed before the deadline. It's a time stamp that shows when your return was transmitted.
Here's how to print out all the e-filing activity related to your return, including the Electronic Postmark:
