Unemployment benefits can be taxable, depending on your other income and deductions. So it would be wise to have federal and state taxes withheld on them.
Unemployment benefits on a federal tax return are taxable income so have federal income taxes withheld from the benefits is a good idea.
Oregon also taxes unemployment benefits.
Not sure what OR tax law is pertaining to taxing unemployment, but unemployment is taxable on your federal return for sure. So it would certainly be a good idea to have the state withhold federal tax from the unemployment to avoid having to pay at tax time next year.
