I received a 1099-R but the distribution was not a disaster distribution. When asked "Did you take a disaster distribution....", I clicked NO. Yet the 8915-F form keeps giving an error. I tried to delete the form, but it repopulates. Then I deleted the 1099-R altogether. But the same error appears even without a 1099-R form.
Delete the Form 8915-F and any Disaster Retirement Distribution worksheets shown in the list for your tax return
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen
Click on Tools
Click on Delete a form
The form repopulates after I delete it.
Was there a Disaster Retirement Distribution worksheet listed?
I solved the problem. I deleted 8915-F. But now I realize I had to also delete all worksheets associated with 8915-F. That cleared the error
- Click Forms (or go to Forms)
- Type 8915 in the search box and enter
- From the search results, select 8915E Wks (this is Form 8915Fworksheet, not the Form8915)
- You may find check mark(s) on questions, i.e., "if you received any distribution in 2022 related to a disaster that occurred in 2021 or 2022. Check this box."
- Uncheck this box (or boxes.) This will clear 8915F error.
this did not work. I was able to click No all along, it just wouldn't accept it. Deleting the form worked like a charm though.
worked like a charm! Thank you!!!!!
