went will trubotax at American resue plan
On 3/20. I went into turbo tax as they had informed me of the updates to unemployment. Pleasantly surprised that this even gave me a higher state (california) refund. However when I went to e-file today 3/27, that higher refund number was no longer there and went back to the original refund amount. So did turbo tax implement an update to state that was not suppose to be updated as in the state of California UE is not taxable income?
Has anyone else experienced this recently?
plase appy to my taxes
My state refund amount has not changed but I have not e-filed yet. The APTC is holding me up even though it doesn't (shouldn't) impact state (CA).
I have tried this process... deleting my info on our 1099-G as you/Turbotax suggested... I then saved and closed, and then re-entered my Unemployment Benefits info and nothing has changed on my Federal return. Any other ideas or what am I doing wrong?! What am I supposed to enter to get the tax credit/refund for UE? Thank you for any help in advance.
I efiled on 2/28/2021. I owed taxes and was going to pay by mail in April. I was also going to file and pay my NC taxes by mail.
Turbo Tax has now been updated with the fix for the unemployment money issue and I let it update my federal & state forms.
Do I just need to mail the revised 1040-V voucher from TurboTax with my payment to the IRS by May 17th and nothing else is required?
Do I just mail my revised D-400 and D-400V to the ND Department of Revenue by May 17th?
Thanks,
Chris Hutchinson
@mattjames99, look elsewhere in your file. Is there something else off-setting your savings from UI? Are you over the $150,000 AGI that means you don't get the savings? Is there some other schedule or form that changes? Someone else in this thread had some other schedule off-set his savings and he still ended up owing that much back. Look back through previous posts in this thread for more details from that person and see if you are in a similar situation.
I keep getting this message:
I am impacted by the ACA plan and per what I read might not have to pay back the over payment BUT TT is not update YET. Any help on this issue

You get additional tax relief as part of the American Rescue Plan because you told us you took an Advance Premium Tax Credit. We’re waiting for IRS guidance on how to update this on your federal return, so you may want to wait to file. Learn moreHere are your options:
- Wait to file while we work to include this on your federal return. We’ll save your work and notify you by email once everything’s ready.
- Or file now and wait for an update from the IRS on how to claim this benefit later.

As stated you have to wait until the IRS provides guidance. You do not have to file a tax return until May 17, 2021.
don't file until the issue is fixed. why would anyone want to put themselves in the position of having to claim the benefit later?
I'm having the same issue with my boyfriend's TT account which I'm presently logged into as I do his taxes. When I logged into my account this afternoon it had already updated both on my unemployment, federal and state, and insurance. The only difference between our accounts is mine is personal and his is self employed. I posted a question to the community a few minutes ago asking the same as you. Hopefully it will fix soon?
I need to amend my taxes because I need to put 1 W2 I missed. How should I proceed? Wait until the IRS is done with Unemployment and returning the money to us, and then amend with the new W2? Can someone help please
only the TAXES PAIED are EXEMPT not the $10,200, sounds like a IRS flag to do it this way
I received my 1099G after I filed so I forgot to add it to my original return. Why am I not able to amend my return add it now in turbotax?
Not a good idea seeing as only the taxes paid are exempt
