TurboTax update to 2021 American Rescue Plan

It's now 2 weeks and the online version of Turbo Tax is updated and those of us who paid for the CD/Download are still waiting. What is the holdup?

The IRS has released the methodology to reduce Unemployment Benefits by the $10,200.

Any update on when the Turbo Tax update will be available to facilitate the $10,200 reduction.

I attempted to insert the reduction per the IRS Guidelines, however this has resulted in a Turbo Tax error that will not allow me to e-file either the Federal or State returns.

Reaching an Intuit Turbo Tax Customer Service representative by 800 phone number is impossible!

You are dropped when you cannot answer irrelevant questions.

@cmBarron, there are other implications from the American Rescue Plan Act that may help with your situation. This is not IRS guidance, but may be helpful as far as what to expect.

I already received my refund I only filed with my unemployment I got $11,931 back from unemployment am I going to get some more money back from the Federal

It seems not, it's taking unemployment benefits into account for the 150k agi. Would be great to know when TT will update to not.

Your various chats state that the on line version of Turbotax Deluxe (that I bought and downloaded from Amazon) should have been updated to forgive first $10,000 of unemployment earnings, however my version has not  updated. I would like to finish filing my taxes but I'm awaiting the update!  I have the latest updates. Any ideas?

TurboTax Deluxe from Amazon is not the same as the online version. You're downloading the CD version so you have to wait for your version to be updated.

The TurboTax online editions are all web-based and are updated without any user intervention.

You purchased software to install on a personal computer.

The TurboTax desktop CD/Download software editions have not yet been updated with the unemployment exclusion coding.

So you're saying the online version that I downloaded from the internet, is still a CD version and I have to wait until you do the update to the CD versions? So that the thousands of customers that bought a Turbotax CD or an online version  has to wait to file!

Correct.  And to make matters even worse the IRS changed how to calculate AGI for the exclusion so all the other tax software companies have to change the code on all their software to comply with the new IRS changes, including TurboTax.  The IRS just came out with the changes yesterday, 03/23.

There is a software update scheduled for 03/26 but I don't think it will be included.  But will have to wait and see.
