I paid Turbotax already and I don't feel like going through the hassle of getting a refund.
Can you try the steps in this article? If the first instructions don't solve the problem, keep scrolling down in the article for next steps.
Let me know if one or the other works.
I do not know how to find the other info, I try to proceed and this is what I get. know I have time to file but I never have had this issue and I used turbo tax software for years. I hope this can be resolved soon. it is obversely turbo tax issue.
Please provide the following information.
1. Component Information
If you are using the TurboTax Desktop
If you are using the TurboTax Online
2. Update Service logs
Since TurboTax support is incompetent, I had to figure out the solution myself.
If you are having the issue with the desktop software here is what you just do to solve your issue of forms not being ready. Close out the program --> go to add/remove programs on your desktop/computer --> completely uninstall the 2024 TurboTax software (don't worry it doesn't delete your started return, that file is saved) --> once removed go to where you downloaded your original software and redownload it.
Once downloaded and installed again, the system will update all applicable state and federal forms. By doing this my CT return had all the forms refreshed and now showed the 1040 and 1040 dependent forms as available and ready to file. For some reason there is a bug in the updating for CT and it doesn't come through as a normal update, you have to completely delete and reinstall the software. This should fix the issue all of us are having. I had to figure this out myself as tech support had no clue what to do.
That worked for me! I just filed the state. Took 5 minutes!! I hope this works for everybody else! 👍
Thank You!
Does reinstalling TT accept the activation code used to install the software originally?
Surprisingly, I didn't have to put the code back in, It just went right into my existing taxes where I left off, but the State was there and ready for filing..
This should not be this difficult, and I for one am not going to spend more of my time on what is clearly a turbotax problem. It has been weeks since I filed and I know CT is accepting tax filings. Can you please tell me how to cancel my CT filing and get a refund?
I've used your service for years, but doubt that I will do so in the future.
What if you don't use the desktop app? I didn't even know there was one and do my taxes directly online.
I've been researching the issue by downloading the 2024 CT-1040 from the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services website and completing the Connecticut return manually. I then downloaded my 2024 CT-1040 Forms and supporting schedules computed by the Turbo Tax Software. It was determined TurboTax was computing my 2024 CT-1040 using their 2023 CT-1040 program. I verified that the Pension and Annuity Worksheet calculated the "Schedule 1 Modifications to Federal AGI Pension and Annuity" based on 2023 Calculation. Also, CT-1040 Line 6 "Income Tax" was calculated based on the 2023 CT Tax Tables.
It appears TurboTax provided us the 2023 CT-1040 software instead of 2024 CT-1040 Software. I suggest TurboTax provide all of us with an update of 2024 CT-1040 software including all necessary updates to bring us current.
I can provide proof to TurboTax if needed.
When you re download the software as I outlined in my response, the new forms use the new 2024 calculations. My return went up by $200 from when I had it completed (when forms weren't ready to file) to when I redownloaded the software and could file. So to your point removing and reinstalling does give you the new/correct 2024 figures. Not to worries others when the read this thread.
I can't believe how terrible TT dropped the ball on this one, this year. I just hope others read this thread and fix their issues!
I also noticed my amount for my State taxes changed when the forms were finally downloaded and available..
I went from originally owing ( which is rare), to getting a refund when finally filed…...
I uninstalled and re-installed TurboTax Premium as directed. Now the message 'Ready Soon' has disappeared and the calculations match my manual CT-1040 calculation. This has resolved the issue. Thank you Jreyno7799.
