Why do you have to file "immediately"? Even when the IRS finalizes the Forms you need and Even if Turbo Tax lets you submit your return they will just hold all the returns until the IRS opens filing on Feb 12, 2021. So there is no hurry. And a lot of people who file early find out they have to amend later like when they get their actual W2 and 1099 forms. Or they get more forms than they were expecting or forgot about.
Maybe when your partner is done you can use that computer to log into your account and file.
There are all sorts of reasons that a person might need to file their taxes immediately and I don't feel like sharing my specific circumstance in this forum, which I'm sure you can appreciate. The point is, that for the past two weeks, I can log into my account, but when I try to make any changes or review the information, I'm thrown an error. Apparently, it's not just me and they are aware of the issue, but haven't fixed it for quite some time. Not good. Also, the issue is not specific to the computer or our Internet. I've tried on a different device. What is most frustrating, is that the phone system refuses to put me through to a live person.
HEY! I just saw this error FAQ. Is this your problem?
That's the exact error, but, unfortunately, it's not solved. At least not for me! 😐
It doesn't say it was RESOLVED yet and there is still a link to sign up. It says they project to have it fixed on 1/29. Guess it's not fixed yet. So you're not alone. If it was fixed it would say RESOLVED on it or be taken down.
