This issue has been going on for months. I think I first reported it the end of last year. I had started entering my W2G's around November/December to get a head start and encountered the issue.
Any "fixes" suggested did not work.

Also, I did end up clicking on "Forms" and you can indeed enter the amounts there normally without any of the "Turbo Tax not responding" nonsense I was constantly getting when I did the "Step by Step" method of entering W-2 data. So, using the "Forms" method does speed up the process some, but regardless, the "Step by Step" method should NOT cause Turbo Tax to repeatedly go into "Turbo Tax not responding"!!

Did you try doing a Save As with a different file name?
