The state will automatically reject if the Federal rejects.
With out additional information about the reason for the reject and the reject code we cannot speculate as to why it rejected and what needed to be done to get it to accept.
Went to H&R with the same numbers and they went through immediately. The "experts" at Turbo were no
help and I have been told this is an uncommon error. I have to believe that there was a glitch somewhere in
Turbo Tax. Have used them since 2008, but never again. Had to pay for nothing except stress.
You have not told us anything to identify what the error even was or if it was a user input error of not.
It was not user error. The only mistake I made was trusting TurboTax. The problem was on their
end. I hate their cutesy replies to things. Dealing with a real person and paying more is definitely worth it.
The two people I talked to there told me they would help me find the problem, but I had lost all faith
in their ability. The fact that the first person had to transfer the call to a second person tells me they were
as confused as I was. They were stumped. My numbers were 100% accurate. I have moved on and am now an H&R customer.
The error message was that the AGI did not match. It did match and the problem is with TurboTax software. I am done with them. I paid $80 for nothing, but I learned a lesson. Have a real person do your taxes!

TurboTax has noting to do with a AGI mismatch whatsoever. It is the IRS that has the SSN database that matched the SSN to name and data of birth. All TurboTax (and any other tax software) does is transmit the agi that you provide to the IRS.
There are several reasons why it can reject.
See this TurboTax FAQ on how to find your AGI

If you filed late last year there is a good chance that the 2018 AGI never was entered into the e-file database. Try using 0 (zero) for the AGI.
If you filed an amended return use the AGI on the first filed tax return.
If it continues to reject then the AGI in the IRS database might be in error. Mail filing is the only option.
I had a similar situation. I've used Turbo Tax for several years, but I will be going elsewhere next year. I am on the hook for $200 for a Turbo Tax product that made a mistake on my taxes, leaving me owing $330 to the IRS on top of it. The customer service call time was short (thankfully!), and the representative wasn't rude. But she was also unapologetic, unhelpful, and insisted there was no way TurboTax could be at fault--without bothering to find out specifically what mistake had been made on the tax forms, so she couldn't really know whether that was true. Combined with the bizarre email I got at 12am notifying me for the first time that I owed this money and it would be debited from my account, with the notice that if I wanted to dispute it I must do so "before the Tuesday the week that my payment would be due" (when the email itself was sent on the Tuesday the week that my payment would be due...convenient)--I'm suspicious of this company's business practices. It all lacks integrity. After paying the $200 I owe for my incorrect taxes, I'm taking my business elsewhere and advising friends to do the same. I don't like working with a company that can't acknowledge a simple mistake and make it right.
Turbo tax two years in a row for some reason did not make me do TWO forms that I needed. So I was sent something by the IRS saying I was missing forms. I mailed them in, but due to the coronavirus I have to wait even longer for my federal return. I paid money for Turbo Tax to completely forget forms I needed, and I will never go back to them. Awful.
2 years in a row turbo tax has messes up.we did not get our refund on state taxes in 2020 filing for 2019, we sent in what we owed to you the Federal Government. When filing fo 2021 filing for federal the USA 🇺🇸 Owes us money. Sent to Ogdon, Nevada for a refund. We owed the state this year. This is all on Turbo Tax. Used it for as long as it’s been out. Won’t go near it again.
please you owe it to us to fix this mess.
