Since you have several individuals with the same last name and the same first initial you should save each return with a unique name. Click on File at the top left of the desktop program screen and then use Save As...
And watch out. If another return has the same name or initial the second return might overwrite the first one. So you need to save each return with a different name. Do you have different .tax2021 files for each person? You don't have to save the return with the same name that's on the tax return. Just rename it so you can tell them apart.
I can relate to all the discussions (and despair) seeking a clear way to express their less than satisfying experiences, and your answer only exacerbates the frustration with your dismissive attitude. What is happening to Turbotax?
I feel you and have expressed my empathy for your quest and that of so many others I am seeing here. I specifically responded to VolvoGirl's disinterested comment. That said, I wonder if anyone has received an appropriate answer to how to provide concerns OTHER THAN by calling or USPS.
Turbotax is horrible for customer service. The IRS sent me an ID number and there was absolutely nowhere to add it electronically. They sent me daily emails telling me that my return had been refused by the IRS and to follow their prompts and they'd fix it. I tried everything; finally printed a hard copy and mailed it - but my return was late and the IRS is now giving me grief.
You can call them - for which the wait is a huge pain - or mail a hard copy of the letter. They don't care at all about their customers because they have them where they want them. THE WORST EXPERIENCE that will cost me about $100 in late fees. THANKS FOR NOTHING TURBOTAX.
The entry for the irs issued IPPIN number is entered in other tax situations section. You could have searched for IP PIN. and it would have taken you to that section.
the fields that usually open up to allow multiple entries for details will not function.
I want to enter multiple listings with individual amounts that calculate a total
I am only getting one box that does not open to allow multiple entries like it always has .
is this broken or is this supposed to be a new approach. it is horrible and unless fixed is my last time to use it.
@domesteader Put your cursor in the box where you want to make an entry. Then click on Edit at the top of the desktop program screen. Then click on Add Supporting Details. Enter your information.
Here is some more feedback for you guys. I purchase the desktop product every year, because I dont want my information stored in some cloud online. This year it is particularly difficult to find the link to buy it for download, as it kept wanting to direct me to online. Additionally, the only way I could find to buy it was to also have to sign up to the auto enroll advantage service, which I had ZERO interest in doing.
This is just poor decisions from a business perspective, and has probably lost you a multi-year client. Newsflash, not everyone wants to do everything online, or auto subscribe every time they buy something!
This is the official TurboTax website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/
At the top of the page move your cursor over Do it yourself
Click on Doing taxes with Desktop software.
You will then be on the TurboTax website for the desktop editions - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
