I am having the same problem trying to file my state and it keeps saying Tax year 2021 transmission or not available I would like to know what’s going on thank you

I’m in nc and I’m getting the same message! What does it mean!? I got an email saying all the forms was ready to file for state but when I get to the end I get that message! And I already paid the fee to file!

The TurboTax email was poorly worded.  It should have indicated that the NC state forms were only available for printing and mailing.

The North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return Form D-400 is not yet available for e-filing.  It is estimated to be available on 02/24/2022

Go to this TurboTax website for North Carolina state forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_nc_online_individual.html

If you want to e-file your federal tax return now then change how you file the NC state return.  This assumes that all of the forms and schedules included in your federal tax return are available for e-filing.

If using the TurboTax online editions click on File on the left side of the online program screen.  On Step 3 of the File section click on Start or Revisit.  Select the button File by Mail.  Then change the filing status of the state return.

After the federal return is e-filed and accepted by the IRS you can e-file the state return when it is available for e-filing.  Just use the same procedure and change the state return back to e-filing.

Seems to me we pay for this service and should expect a satisfactory outcome without the need to jump through hoops! If turbotax can't handle this problem I see no need to give them my business!

If your in the state of north Carolina the state filing is not ready yet. Won't be able to file state taxes till end of February but you can go ahead and file federal and once state becomes available to file then file state. That's what I had to do I ended up filling just my federal yesterday and I'll file state when it's available to file. The state of NC passed new laws and what not so it's the reason why it's taking so long for people to be able to file state.

Have to file federal separate. State is not available to file yet in the state of north Carolina. But you can go ahead and file federal and then file state at the end of the month when it comes available

Same here. I had gotten the be emails saying forms were ready but they are not. Won't be till end of February maybe early March who knows. But you have to file federal separate if your wanting to file right now. Or if you just wait till state forms are ready then to can file both together. TurboTax is not the only place having this issue it's everyone since the state of NC changed some bills and passed some laws on the taxes this year they of course done it right at tax time so they weren't prepared and everyone is having to wait on state papers. to become available. But yesterday I just filed my federal and I'll wait till state is available and go back and file for my state. Hope this helps
