Did as suggested. Created valid password and still get error message “for security reasons should be between 6 and 16 characters “ My password was valid. Help.

2019 Turbotax Premier + State 2019 will not add password to file. Gives error on length of password being between 6 and 32, which it was. Found no details on format other than length and case sensitive so not sure of problem.
Have same problem using same software and still no answer or fix.

I'll follow your advice and contact customer care.
So I entered all the details into the form you suggested ... was given a phone number to call with a Support ID, and called, gave the ID ... and then got an AI program that would never answer the real question ---- soon as I said password it assumed I needed to know how to reset an existing password for the online Turbotax system!

I tried ONE more time ... it turns out my PW entry was just fine, it was the entry for the Security Question, I was answering for the name of my High School --- which happened to be LONGER than the 16 character maximum FOR the security question.
So I chose a different question, that for me had an answer between the 6 and 16 character limit!
And the program accepted the PW!
Yeah!!!
Please make sure that the answer to your security question is 6-16 characters long. The program will accept your password once you verify that the Answer is at least 6 -16 characters.

I reset my password and received a message confirming the change. The tubotax program will not accept my password when I try to pay the filing fee with my credit card.
