My taxes were not filed for 2023--
I just discovered this, since I believed, as of 21 March 2024, I HAD filed them. In fact, I sent a check to the IRS on the 21st of March 2024 for all taxes due AND full payment for Estimated Tax. I have a refund due from North Carolina--that's how I finally determined my taxes were not filed!
I have a copy of the entire filing and, of course, copies of my checks.
What do I do now?

Did you ask NC about your refund? Or how do you know it wasn't filed? They could be late sending the refund. It might take awhile. Did you efile or mail it? If you efiled was it Accepted? When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
By the way, how did you send the estimated payment? Did you include it in the tax due check or send it separately? They should have gone in separate envelopes.
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If you did not successfully e-file, then you can try again, or you can print, sign and date the returns in ink, and mail them in to the IRS and state.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
if they were rejected you can still e-file them. However, if possible, you must correct the issue that is causing the rejection. If you provide us with the complete rejection message and code, perhaps we can help you to successfully e-file. There are some uncorrectable situations which will require you to mail in your returns following TurboTax's filing instructions. since it seems you already sent in payments that were cashed, do not send the money again.
