Turbotax claims 100% accuracy, but I after filing and paying taxes due to both federal and state a few weeks ago, I just received a tax refund from the State of California. No explanation - just a check. (a part of what I just paid).
It looks like Turbotax got something wrong - luckily, in my favor - but how do I find out what happened?
If I'd owed money instead, I guess I could have used my guarantee, but even in this case, with no explanation, I have concerns about TTax accuracy going forward.
(The product was Turbotax Home and Business, by the way)
Thanks!

If you feel the state refund is the result of an accuracy issue within TurboTax, see this link: How do I submit a claim under the TurboTax 100% Accurate Calculation Guarantee?
Even though it resulted in a refund and not an assessment, the TurboTax specialists may be able to help you understand why this occurred.
Thanks, but unfortunately this link does not work (It takes me back here!)
I just want to know what happened. I can only speculate that it's a Turbotax error, because the State gave no explanation at all.
I Googled the link and found it.
Unfortunately it says because there is no penalty, I'm not eligible to contact anyone under the accuracy provision.
Any other ideas?
As I mentioned, you would need to contact the state to see what the error was. Many times it is as simple as a typo that they caught. This would at least give you information so you knew what happened.
"You would need to contact the state to get the explanation for the adjustment."
It's true, someone at the State should know, since they sent it, but I don't look forward to hours on the phone. :(
I guess I'll just cash that check and move on....
It may take a while for the letter to come. A lot of times you get the check a week or two before the explanation letter.
