I have the 2023 desktop software. When I enter 1099-misc for royalty income, the information is feeding the royalty income screens but when I look at the summary page, the income shows zero and there is no depletion calculated. If I click on the ? next to royalty income, the amount entered from the 1099 shows. I have deleted the software and downloaded the software from the intuit website with no change to the results. I did not have this kind of issue doing my 2022 taxes. I have also done disk cleanup and cleared browser cache with no change in the results. Has anyone else had this issue? I have been unable to reach live support because the machine answering cannot understand the spelling of my last name.

I had the same problem. My royalty is not a business, if yours isn't, use Schedule E not schedule C. I called phone number [phone number removed]. The rep told me Turbo Tax automatically sends one to schedule C and you run into problems if it's not a business.
If the 1099-MISC is not a business, you have to mark:
I am using the selection that creates a schedule E but as I stated in the original post, when I go to the summary for schedule E, there is no income showing and depletion is not calculated. I think it is a software glitch but am having trouble reaching someone within Turbotax to discuss the problem.
It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2023" file that is experiencing this issue.
You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information.
In TurboTax for Desktop, go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent."
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click Send on this screen and wait for the Token number to appear.
Reply to this thread with your Token number and tag (@) the Expert who requested it. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.
We will attempt to determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
I eventually deleted the entire 2023 return I had started, re-installed the software and then was able to do my federal return and everything seemed to function correctly. It took a lot of research to find out how to delete the entire return rather than parts of the return. My thanks to those who have responded to my post.
You don't have to delete the return. To start over in the Desktop program you just start a new return. Go up to File-New. And you didn't need to reinstall the program. Your tax return is separate from the program.
