Are you asking if you can file a return after already filing one?  If so, did you e-file the first return, and was it accepted by the IRS?  If not, what is you question?

If you’ve already filed a return and you need to update it, you’ll need to file an amended return.

You should wait to file your amended return until you get the refund from your original return. 

Even if your original return has been accepted by the IRS, it's still possible that the IRS could change your refund or balance due on that return.
