I begin to wonder if Windows 11 was the culprit in downloading Schwab, so I went back to my old slow laptop
still on Windows 10. I'm using Turbotax Basic (which I used last year successfully to import)
on Widows 11 it went to a blank "Bank Login" page and no "login" offering.
On my old reloaded Windows 10 laptop I was able to login and retrieve my Schwab 1099 info.
Basic works on 10, but not on 11 for retrieval.
Intuit has some work to do here.
@fixateand others, You finally had success. Lucky you!
I can keep banging away at it but I'm wondering about your process for retrying. Did you just reenter your credentials over and over, or did you back out a screen or two before getting back to the login page, or did you quit and restart TurboTax?
And did your success come at an odd hour?
Thanks! Good questions. I did quit and restart TT each try, but didnt shut down or restart my Mac. Each time, I did try two separate Schwab logins, no dice with either until voila 7:30AM Monday, they each worked. I also tried a Fidelity login a number of times over the weekend to no avail as well..
good luck!
SUCCESS! Finally. I was able to import all Schwab documents at about 10:15am today (Tuesday) in California. So, regular business hours.
The one thing that I did differently this time was to backup a couple of screens from the point of failure. Previously, each time I started TT, it would start at a page ready to start the import of Schwab forms. I hit back several times. It hung for quite awhile, doing nothing. Finally I found myself at the beginning, with TT telling how the process works and did I want them to step me thru everything or choose myself. After that it worked normally. I have no idea if that changed anything. Maybe it was coincidence. Good luck!
I have also been unable to import 1099-B data from Schwab, though I was able to import the 1099-DIV and 1099-INT. Schwab says it is a TurboTax issue. After a 20 minute conversation with a TT rep, she told me others had reported the same issue. No clue when or if the problem could or would be fixed. Pretty outrageous if you bought TT Premier to avoid entering trades manually.
I have checked my settings. They are set as you suggested. Import says it was successful but nothing is showing up.
My import finally worked! I've been trying repeatedly for hours. I usually did not quit TurboTax between attempts. I did back out to the Import screen, where you choose a brokerage or bank, after every 3-5 tries at the login pane. I did nothing new but all of the sudden, it worked. This was at about 1:30CST. Hopefully better luck next year.
Were you able to import 1099-B data, or just the 1099 DIV and INT? I could do the latter, but the former just says "0," which I know is wrong. On my second call to TT I was told that they are working on it, and hope to be ready to import 1099-B data in a few days. I sure hope so.
The message said that the important was successfully but nothing showed up at all.
I spoke to Schwab tech support on Saturday and they thought it was Schwab problem and they were working on it. Three days later, still does not work.
That's interesting. Schwab told me their tech department said it was a TurboTax problem, and the TT agent said that it was a TT problem and they were working on it. This is getting ridiculous
Just so you know. TT "Basic" imports the stock trades from Schwab.
@David1144 Yes, all my data from Schwab came through including 1099-Bs. I downloaded the pdfs and compared them to what appeared in TT just to be sure.
I don’t seem to be able to connect to Charles Schwab and download anything. WHY?? How do I correct this?
Did that— enabled third party access. Still not connecting. What now.
