@marksanjose - A Turbotax "expert" in another thread mentioned that the max lines (trades) is 1500. Ridiculously low for any person who trades with any frequency.
Not seeing anything premier about the version of TT I purchased.
Same issue on Tuesday Feb 22, so it is not fixed.
FYI, I did not the following in order to get it to work:
1. In the Schwab Security Center I toggled the 3rd party app support off/on a couple of times
2. Since I am MacOS based in Safari Preferences I enabled popups for all apps
3. Restarted TurboTax and tried again. This was critical.
It worked!
* Don't forget to change your popup settings back to Block or whatever your old setting was after you finish the download of your 1099 data.
I just did the hotngui recommendation and that fixed it for me on my Mac too!
Thanks
I just did the hotngui method. But still cannot log in to schwab through the TT on 2/23/22 2:00pm PT. I still got the "login is temporarily unavailable..."
I have a lot of transactions in the 1099 and I used the Mac version. Has anyone with extensive 1099 and can download the Schwab 1099 from TT with MAC? I allowed third party access in schwab and have updated TT and MAC OS. (Monterey) and rebooted everything several times. I tried changing password and toggle third party access but still have no avail. I can log in to schwab and downloaded the 1099 from a browser but not through the TT. I can download 1099 from Fidelity to TT. The problem appeared related to TT and Schwab interface at login.
It seems the Schwab login window that pop up within the TT is not a Safari window. It is still a TT window since the "Turbo tax" still shown next to the Apple logo when this schwab log in window is selected. So changing Safari set up seems does not affect TT. It seems it did not get to the 1099 yet since it did not even pass the log in step.
Will try later again when the traffic is slower to see what happened.
Just did a ticket with Schwab on this. Hope it will be resolved soon.
Same problem. I've wasted a lot of time on this. Turbo Tax is next to worthless for me if it can't import the 1099.
I enabled popups for intuit.com and for ttlc.intuit.com and client.schwab.com
(this is under Safari -=> Preferences -=> Websites -=> Pop Up Windows)
I then toggled under security Third Party Support (Logged into the Schwab.com website), Save, toggle, save toggle, enable it one last time, save, exit.
and then everything worked like last year.
This was on Safari 15.3, YMMV
Thank you... That worked.. You should receive a commission from Intuit.
FWIW I have done the methods detailed above to disable popups by site (I also disabled content blockers on each page’s site settings to be sure), toggled 3rd party access, restarted TT, and it still doesn’t work for me. So frustrating.
Hi,
Yes, it finally downloaded 1099 from Schwab inside TT.
After I did the "toggle and save" several times of the third party access at the Schwab site, I still got the message of "Login temp unavailable..." when I was at TT trying to download 1099 from Schwab.
But instead of cancel out of that window, I clicked on the "reload", then entered the schwab id and password again. Then it works. I have a very big 1099 form and use MAC. So it is not the line limit factor, I think.
I did exactly the same this morning but it did not work. (I did not do reload at that time).
It seems it is an on and off thing that may be due to traffic limitation that you just need to keep trying. It feels like when the time is right, you are in! It is not ideal. It was never like this in prior years.
Hope they will resolve this so we will not need to endure this.
Same here I think it's TT not Schwab. No matter how many times I tried I can't get Schwab pop up window to work correctly for me to log in through TT. I can't even gain access to log in.
I'm on Wins 11 if that matters since I see most people here are on Mac
It could be a couple of possibilities. One is that the password was entered incorrectly, you will need to grant third-party access for Turbo Tax to import. Also, it could be that there are too many individual transactions to import as the limit is 1500.
As we do not have access to your account or return, rest assured, we are looking to provide a solution or viable workaround.
Please refer to these Turbo Tax articles for additional assistance.
How do I enter a large number of stock transactions in TurboTax Online?
What if I can't import my 1099?
How do I import my 1099?
Hi @SForrestLO I do get the Schwab pop up but I can't even type in anything for user and password. Thinking this is an issue with TurboTax since I can't get the window pop up to work correctly.
I have 3rd party access on with Schwab
I never saw or read about any 1500 transaction limit for data imports. Why isn’t that fact shown in any of your product advertising. That puts a severe cramp in many accounts and would have been a deal breaker had I known about it before I bought TT.
It worked for me on 24 February 2022 just fine. I had issues when I tried to get it done before then but kept on trying every couple days.
