I'm not sure what it will say exactly. Maybe US Treasury.

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment.

Turbo Tax doesn’t pay the IRS or state for you.  They only transmit your bank account number and routing number for the IRS to pull it out of your account.   Do you have a withdrawal in your bank account?   Is it the same amount as your federal tax due?    Who does it say?

Double check the routing and account numbers with your bank.   So e banks use different routing numbers for deposits and payments.   And if you used Bank of America there are five routing numbers that the bank does not use for electronic transactions.

The description on my direct debit tax payment is "IRS DES:USATAXPYMT." I don't know if that description comes from the IRS or from the bank.
