I paid off my 30 year mortgage in the fall. The TurboTax form won't let me put 0.00 in the line that says how much I owe , but it won't let me leave the line blank. I can't leave the whole topic blank because I did pay some final interest before I was done.

I have the exact same problem! Hopefully you will get an answer for both of us.
Did you try putting in $0.001 or $0.01? This may allow the system reflect a 0 balance due.
You will be able to indicate that the loan is paid off as you enter your information.
Go back into the program and go to in the federal section of the program.
that seems to apply to a different version of turbotax: I'm working on Premier 2020 and can't find any screen with the prompt "Was this loan paid off or refinanced with a different lender in 2020? "
Still unable to figure out how to handle it.
This doesn't work for the Deluxe version either.
I'm having the same issue. I paid off my mortgage in 2020 and am trying to enter the interest I paid......Deluxe version
putting in .01 does not work either
Same problem here
This does not work. It will not accept a zero with no decimals nor will it accept a one cent entry.
I just called and spoke with someone at TurboTax. According to her, IRS guidance says you enter the amount of the original mortgage if box 2 is not filled in on you 1098 form. Hope this helps someone else.
Come on Intuit, why can't you fix your software? What programmer decided that you can't enter $0 for a balance?
