There are different types of transcripts. Are you looking at a Tax Return Transcript or a Wage and Income Transcript? The heading at the top of the first page shows what type of transcript it is. Also check the "Tax Period" date at the top of the first page. Is it for the right year?
If a Wage and Income Transcript that you got recently does not show your W-2, your employer might have failed to file the W-2 with the IRS. Include the W-2 that you have in your tax return, but question your employer about it. Also check your Social Security earnings record to make sure your earnings were reported to Social Security. If you file your tax return by mail, be sure to attach a copy of the W-2. If you e-filed your tax return, you might get a letter from the IRS asking for a copy of the W-2.
If a Tax Return Transcript does not show your W-2, then you omitted that W-2 from the tax return that you filed. You should file an amended return (Form 1040X) to add the missing W-2.
If you have more questions, tell us what type of transcript you have and what year you are asking about.
If you got a Wage and Income Transcript for 2018 several months ago, especially before July 2019, the transcript might simply be incomplete. It takes the IRS months to get all the W-2s into the transcripts. If your transcript is old, get a new transcript now and see if the W-2 is there.
Also if your employer uses a payroll company then the name on the transcript may be the payroll company not the employer.
Is your username your telephone number? If it is, please be aware that NO ONE from the user forum will call you, but scammers and would-be identity thieves who would love to call and pretend to be from TurboTax could call you.
