For security reasons, the IRS plans to mail a letter about the economic impact payment to the taxpayer’s last known address within 15 days after the payment is paid. The letter will provide information on how the payment was made and how to report any failure to receive the payment.
I received 600 but was supposed to receive 2100 with 3 dependant children.
Mine was significantly less and appeared to go by my gross income rather than my AGI. I filed my taxes in 2019. I should've received around 1100, instead I got $300....
Ours is wrong, but not just from forgetting a child… We’re married filing jointly and have one 16 year old child so should get $2900, but only received $1200.
The amount i got was not based on my adjusted gross income....it was based off my total earnings....**bleep**....i did the calculator i was supposed to get around $500 based off adjusted gross income...i got $50....thanks irs. Been on forlough and unable to get through to unemployment....thanks for my **bleep**ing $50, really appreciate it.
I also did not get the extra $500 for my dependents & I have 2 ! Please help.
My stimulus check was based on 2018 earnings and not 2019 even though we did file. We made a great deal less and qualified for the full $2400.00 in 2019. How do we get it fixed.
Ours was wrong as well. We have a 7 month old and hadn’t completed our 2019 tax return in time. So it went by our 2018 taxes from before he was born. Hopefully there is some sort of resolve.
Either way thankful, just tough for those that do have kids that had this situation.
Re: My stimulus check is wrong I think! I have an adult child that I claimed as a dependent and another child under 17 as another dependent. Shouldn’t my check be $2200, I only got $1700
@Tristaca You only get the dependent credit for UNDER 17.
Instead of being $2,700 I only got $1,700...I only got $500 payment for 1 child it supposed to be 3 I claimed them on my taxes
We have the same problem. We received $2900 but did not get the $500 for our child born in August 2019. We filed our 2019 taxes in February. I can understand why it happened, but I have no idea how to go about fixing it since the IRS isn't accepting phone calls.
My check was NOT based off adjusted gross income. It was based off total earnings. Seems like im not the only one, 4 friends i talked to all said the same thing. Assuming there is no way to report this and there probably never will be and i wont make rent this month! GREAT! Thanks!!!
