So if there are all of these taxes being rejected, is Intuit doing anything to resolve the software issue that is causing the trouble? Or working with the IRS regarding their software?
That would seem intuitive would it not?
I see that this previous AGI rejection by IRS when trying to resubmit ones tax forms is out of control. What is the IRS doing about this, and what can we do about this other that file by snail mail?
INTUIT should give us a refund!!
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2019 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2019 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.
Or—-if you filed as a “non-filer” just to get the stimulus check on a 2019 return, try using $1 as the AGI.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
@mrhugeness huh? There is not a "software problem" to fix here. The number either matches the IRS database and is a go, or it doesn't. That's an IRS issue, not a TurboTax issue. There is nothing to "fix" about the software.
Untrue - it IS a TT problem. The software transmits the info to the IRS in a certain format, and there's something wrong with the specific data format that TT transmits. Why else would filing the SAME info using different software result in an acceptance from the IRS within minutes? And it's not just me; many people have had exactly the same experience.
Yeah, entering 0 for AGI works, my e-file got accepted after being rejected twice while entering the correct AGI(I've checked my 2019 transcript on IRS website).
Maybe it's because the IRS were undermanned last year due to COVID and most tax returns were processed late.
IRS said “Primary taxpayer’s AGI is incorrect”. My wife and I have been filed jointly for 47 years. Nowhere in Turbo Tax shows individual AGI’s.
Where do I find my AGI?
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947
Your 2019 tax return shows your 2019 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.
Form 1040 line 8b
If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2019
If entering the amount from your 2019 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead. If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2019 AGI may not be in the system.

Note: If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return. You will not be able to e-file your state return.

it is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it like UPS or certified mail. Then you will know the IRS received it.
If you used the wrong AGI, your e-file be rejected. When you get the rejection notice, correct it and re-file.

If you filed a Joint return you enter the same AGI for each of you.
Turbo tax only only asked for a single AGI, which was the correct number from last year. The error message stated “primary taxpayer” for some reason.

I got mine to go through just by entering 0 in there.
I printed everything out Ready to send in when I read your post to try entering zero. 8 hours later - no rejection, where the other tries I got rejected in about 15 minutes.
I’ll wait the 24 to 48 hours for a positive response from Turbo Tax.
thanks much!!!
