Just as you can create and complete multiple federal tax returns using the desktop editions, you can create and complete multiple state tax returns using the desktop editions. The free state program download covers as many state returns as needed for that particular state at no further charge for the state program.
However, using the desktop editions there is an e-file fee for the state tax returns (except New York state). It is currently $19.99 and increases to $24.99 later in the tax year. This state e-file fee can be avoided by printing and mailing the state tax returns.

Can I use TurboTax Deluxe download or CD to file two federal returns - one with the state of GA and the other with the state of CA?
You can e-file up to five federal returns. If you purchased desktop Deluxe that included software for one specific state, you have to pay extra ($44.99) for the second state.
And with desktop software there is a fee to e-file a state return. To avoid that fee, print and mail the state return.
Thank you!
