It is March 11 and I am having this exact same issue still. I have turned off my pop-up blockers and I've tried Safari, Chrome and Edge. I sure hope this is just that NM hasn't made them available for import yet and that will change on March 15th like another user said. I will not be happy if I've paid the money for the premier version of TurboTax and can't import my 1099s from NM. The import worked fine with my bank when importing my savings account tax from.
same on 14 March, mac desktop. I see the downloaded files from NM in my "documents" on intuit (including previous attempts over last few days), but nothing makes it to TTax. zero interest in putting all this stuff in manually. imports worked fine from two other institutions.
Answer to the can't download question .... it's very simple. When you get to the page in TurboTax that shows the logos of various financial institutions and asks you to select from the list, choose yours as I'm sure you've done.
Then below that you have two options, one is to do the import, the other is I'll type it myself. It appears that the Do the import option is selected. It's not. You have to CLICK IN THE CIRCLE to select it, then click continue and it will take you to the login, then you'll see a list of documents available for download and you just click and it's done.
TurboTax shouldn't move forward without a selection in that box. it's caused a lot of people a lot of angst.
The issue with importing from Northwestern has been addressed and you should be able to proceed now.
First, make sure your program is updated. This can be done by logging into your desktop product. Select Online in the menu on the top, and then select Check for Updates.
If that does not update your program, you can also manually update your program.
Then, follow these steps to import your 1099.

@JotikaT2 brilliant - thank you. I just tried it again and now it works. I notice that the spelling of the institution in the list has been cleaned up, too.
It's not a matter of updates, it's purely a matter of making sure that you actually click in what TurboTax highlights as the default selection, the circle that says "Import from my bank or brokerage" ... if you don't, it goes thru the motions of having you login and tells you it's been downloaded, when in fact it's done nothing at all. Tnx
SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Using TurboTax Premium
Desktop Version
MacBook Pro
FireFox Browser
All of my 1099 Forms from Northwestern Mutual finally downloaded into TurboTax.
As before.... I went to the Federal Taxes Tab, then Wages and Income Section, and then down to Investment Income sections for 1099-B form.
In the search window.... I looked for "Northwestern Mutual Inv Svs-NMIS" and selected it and hit CONTINUE.
Next.... there is a small pop-up box that says....."Start You Import" OK or Cancel buttons.
You hit OK..... and it opens a separate browser window that say's "GET MY FORM".
Click on it.... and it will go get all your 1099 documents and show them in a Dialog Box where you can select which 1099 Forms to download.
Mine were 1099 B, 1099 INT, 1099 R and a fourth one I can't remember.
After they loaded into TurboTax.... and could go to each section and compare them to my PDF version of my Consolidated 1099 form from NWM.
I hope that everyone else will be able to get to theirs now that I might has worked.
It's just called Patience!!!!!! I guess.
OK.... after typing my last message for SUCCESS.... I hadn't seen the posts about updating the software.
When I opened my TurboTax Premium..... it did update the software..... which is why I was able to get it to work now.
Hi tsttoilet..... this issue has been going on for two weeks and just now got resolved with the software update.
And yes..... what you said to do.... is exactly what everyone was doing previously to the software update...but it wasn't working. So after the update it is now working.
Thank you! It's finally working.
