Illinois Tax Return glitch

You believe that you have a glitch in your state tax returns and I cannot "view, print or download (my Illinois forms) because some of the forms have not been finalized yet". When I request an email notification for when they will be available, I get a response saying "unable to load messageid. No forms or products have been specified. Please close the window and try again. for en_US".  I believe the forms are available -- certainly they are available on the Illinois Department of Revenue site.  In prior years, if the forms were not available, there would be a "! error" next to the form and if you printed the form it would say something like "do not file". I think this is a glitch is the system.  I see questions from taxpayers in Alabama and Oklahoma re the same problem. The programing department needs to be transparent, address this issue, and advise clients when the problem will be fixed.  I spent over 2 hours on the phone today with TurboTax and you have still not addressed my problem -- how dare you sent me an email saying that my case is closed and ask me to take a survey.  I spent $90 on the download Premier edition and I expect more from TurboTaxve

    I have the exact same issue(s).  I don't understand why they have not identified and fixed this issue

    ok.  I tried it and the latest suggestion from you guys doesn't work for those of us who have the CD install.  I uninstalled and used the CD to reinstall.

     

    Now what????  I am getting very frustrated!!!

    Great, but what you don't tell us is approximately when it will be fixed.  We've been talking about this issue for a few days now.  

     

    We paid money for this program and we can't file our state taxes!  TurboTax/Intuit should at least give us an estimated resolution time (not to mention an apology)

    I have the same issue.   It let me efile, but I can't print or save a copy of my return?       When will this be fixed?

    Same problem. Been waiting for quite a while for a fix.

     

    All we hear is crickets!

     

    Hey Intuit: How about a REFUND of the price of the software since we can't get a tax REFUND using your software???

    I agree.  Someone needs to give us an estimated timeframe.  Day after day goes by and we can't file our state returns.

     

    Thanks TurboTax--not feeling like I want to continue using you in the future!!!

    Update-For those who have not signed up for the e-mail notification about this issue I have included it here: 

    "Please follow the below step in an attempt to clear the issue:

    1. Exit out of the TurboTax Program
    2. Uninstall the Illinois folder by following the steps below
      1. Click on the Windows button or the search bar on the bottom left of your computer screen
      2. Type c: into the search bar
      3. Double-Click on the folder labeled Program Files (x86)
      4. Double-Click on the TurboTax folder
      5. Then double-click on the folder for tax year 2018
      6. Then double-click on Forms
      7. Find the folder labeled ili_18
      8. Right click on the ili_18 folder and click delete
    3. Re-install Illinois by following the steps below
      1. Click on the Windows button or the search bar on the bottom left of your computer screen
      2. Type w_illinois_ind into the search bar
      3. Click on the item labeled w_illinois_ind_2018.160.0100.exe (or the one that is most similar)
      4. Follow the on screen instructions to finish installing Illinois
    4. Relaunch TurboTax after Illinois has been installed"

    If the above instructions do not work, please click the sign-up button.

    I tried this but am unable to locate the w_illinois_ind file in search to reinstall?    Can it be downloaded somewhere?

    Just wish to correct my prior note: Was searching for w_illinois_ind as indicated in the instructions.  Regardless, nothing of that sort came up. 


    Does not find w_illinois_ind on my computer either

    Hello All:

     

    I live in IL and I had the same problem viewing and printing my State forms.  I tried deleting the files but that didn't work.  What DID work was uninstalling the software altogether.   Your files will not be deleted as long as you save them to your desktop.  I had already prepared 5 returns for my family so I was extremely stressed about uninstalling the software.  But I am here to tell you it works.  If you've already paid for it, just download it again from your account - including any other State product that you may have had to purchase and - voila - you're on your way.   I'm printing while I'm typing this message.

     

    I really hope this helps.  I believe this is more frustrating than seeing that ridiculous DO NOT FILE watermark on our IL forms for the last few years.

    No this is NOT a workaround because it doesn't work!

     

    I followed the uninstall/reinstall procedure and I'm also being prompted to pay $39.99 for my state program.

     

    Wasted my time, yes. Workaround? No.

     

    I want a refund of the purchase price of this software which is holding my state tax refund hostage. When may expect the check from Intuit?

    Was getting frustrated with the Turbo Tax recommended "fixes" not working.   Found this in  Support and it worked for me.  

    Use at your own risk.  I figured I could always put back the files or reinstall if things went off the rails.

     

    Turbo Tax:  What is your organization going to do to repair customer relations?  My refund along with many others has been held hostage by this bug that is yet to be officially resolved.   

     

    If you are comfortable with deleting files, you can try this:

    Delete the three files   ilif01.1pe, ilif02.1pe and il_ind_schsa.pdf  all dated 12/10/18.

      location was C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Premier 2018\Forms\ili_18 for the first two files, 

    ….and C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Premier 2018\Forms\ili_18\fpspdfs for the pdf. 

     

    This worked for several other users.

    (the "Premier 2018" subdirectory will be Deluxe or Home & Business if your version is one of the other ones)

    I have the same issue and same error for the email notification. I spent 5 minutes on the phone with support and they advised me the forms are there (installed) but not released by the state of Illinois. The tentative availability date they have is March 1st. 2019 for Illinois. I commented that's about par for Illinois. The support rep mentioned there are actually several states this year who are in this same category which is unusual for them. My taxes are filed and accepted, I just need to print a copy the record.

    It is February 22 and I am still having this problem.  I bought H&R Block software and have had no problem printing Illinois returns.

    In fact I'll be switching to H&R Block for the rest if my family's returns this year.  It also seems their explanations are much clearer than 

    TurboTax's.   I've used TurboTax for more than 8 years.  But this unresolved problem is making me switch.
