What options were you provided? You can change your refund method by following the steps in the below TurboTax FAQ. 

How do I change my refund method?

Did you select to have the fees deducted from your refund?  You have to use Direct Deposit for that.  So you have to pay the fees first by credit card to get a refund check.

 

Remove Pay with Refund fee
