sounds like a scam or it could be a promo by some tax prep service becuase the 1st IRS contact is almost exclusively by mail.
did your 2018 or 19 return contain the bank a/c info to use for direct deposit - thats all the IRS needs
if not you can provide info through IRS website
Got the same text. Really needing an answer too.
Got the same text this am.
I just received a text message from turbo tax Your Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Code is ******
My mother received this message today, and followed by leaving a voicemail message. it is clear to me that someone is trying to hack into her Intuit account. There appears to be no immediate method to report active hacking attempts. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE.
Checking payment status
Got the same thing, from 88811, which appears to be where Intuit texts me from. Very disconcerting. I just setup 2 factor but the whole thing left me spooked

Beware of scammers. The IRS does not email you, text you or phone you.

I also just received this text message at 11:57pm central time. I did not request anything I was sleeping. Did anyone find out what this is about? Did someone hack into our account?
