I had $2000 of charitable deductions but Line 12b shows $300 instead of $600. I am filing married jointly. How do I get line 12b to change to $600?

Change the $300 to $600 and Continue.  On the screen for running Smart Check again just click on Done or Continue.

When you are on Final Review after the State return has been completed the program will tell you that there is one item that needs review.  During the review change the $300 to $600 on the From 1040 Line 12b.  After completing this review your return should be able to be filed.  See screenshots.

I had to go back in a remove the charitable deductions I had listed.  The Turbotax form is not clear on this

To properly account for the $300 / $600 charitable deduction, you must first, you must clear all donations from the Deductions & Credits input screen

In the Desktop version:

1. Go to Deductions and Credits

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page

3. Select Done with Deductions

4. Let's check your Deductions .. Continue

5. Here are your 2021 Deductions ... Continue

6. The Standard deduction is right for you ... Continue

7. GET A TAX BREAK FOR DONATING CASH TO CHARITY

8. Enter your amount

Online version

1. Go to Deductions & Credits

2. Scroll to the very bottom

3. Select Wrap up Tax Breaks (Online)

4. Continue through the interview to 

5. Charitable Cash Contributions under Cares Act

6. Enter your donation.

That is what I did earlier and it works.  The Turbo Tax instructions are very poor on this issue
