I got turbo tax for 2020 and when loading it said it won't work on Windows 7. Can I switch my software to online,?

Your payment for desktop software will not transfer to the Online TurboTax version.  They are not interchangeable, have different features, and different pricing structures.   Online TurboTax will open in early December.    You can get a refund for your 2020 desktop software purchase.

Going forward ... if you keep WIN 7 ... before you buy you need to check and see the system requirements for a program  as many things will not work any longer.

I love that "click here and fill out the form", which sends you three questions, one of them being, "What is your order number?" I have looked at all of their screens, my account, my emails, and there is no order number anywhere. So then you look for a phone number to call them, none. Oh, they give you a number and when you call they say you need a different one.  I now understand why Turbo Tax no longer works on earlier versions of Windows, they have no folks that can program logically. I will get my refund and after I do I will find another company to do my taxes with. I spent over 4 hours on this and have gotten no where.
