Try deleting Schedule B and reentering your interest and dividends. If you imported your info, that may be causing the error check or somehow 7b or 7c are checked.
To change the foreign bank account question:
Deleting Schedule B will delete any interest (1099-INT) and dividends (1099-DIV) on your return. If you received interest and dividends, put those amounts back in before filing. The foreign bank question will come up again. Be sure to say No this time.

it's a lot of operations but this solved the problem!
When the critical question shows up, take a deep breathe, and definitely focus...
well. I wish the software usability could be improved.
We are happy to hear you were able to get this resolved! Please let us know if you need further assistance.
I have exactly the same problem! I chatted with two live help people and they could not help!
You are posting on a thread that is a year old. Can you tell us the problem you are experiencing?
I was able to fix it by going back to Wages & Income > Miscellaneous investment income. I had selected "none of the above" instead of "Owned or signed on a foreign bank, broker, or other financial account". Rest of the foreign asset questions show up under Other Tax Situations (i.e. Schedule B line 7a is populated under Wages & Income, and line 7b under Other Tax Situations). They should be under the same menu! There should be a better online help so that you can find out easier which question populates which box!
i followed your instructions and deleted all the Schedule B forms and reentered everything manually. but I still have the same issue showing up - Schedule B Line 7a, should be blank. what can I do now? i have been doing this for a few times but could not fix the issue. i won't be able to efiling if this issue persists
I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:
