You will not be able to upgrade to the Plus edition for tax year 2018 since the TurboTax online editions for 2018 have closed to make way for the 2019 online editions.  Once the 2019 online editions become available in December, at that time you can start a 2019 return and upgrade to Plus.

 

You can also get free transcripts of your federal return from the IRS - http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

 

Or contact TurboTax support during business hours and see if there are any other options available for accessing a prior year online tax return.

Why isn't there a phone number associated with Intuit, TurboTax or any of these other services? You cannot talk to a human. I have been trying to cancel my subscription, you can't do it on-line, you can't call anyone, this is ridiculous.

You cannot get a copy of your 2019 tax returns because the tax returns for tax year 2019 cannot be filed until after 12/31/2019.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

 

You can also get free transcripts of your federal return from the IRS - http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

For a fee of $50 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

 

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

I have used Turbo tax for over a decade.  The products and service has deteriorated substantially.  I can fill out a return with pen and ink faster than this now.

Since you have not described a specific issue or problem here, we have no way to help you.  If you would please be specific, someone could offer advice or help.  And as complicated as income taxes have become, it is unlikely that you could actually prepare your return by hand faster these days--unless you have a very simple return.

 

The online software is not yet available, but the desktop software is available on CD or download.  There are still many updates to come.  The IRS has not finalized forms yet and will not be accepting 2019 returns until late January at the earliest.

 

Phone support is not provided with the Free Edition.  If you are using a paid version of the software or if you purchased PLUS you can get phone support when customer support is there.  Otherwise, post your question here and someone will try to help.

Specific issue is I am unable to download a state program for 2018 as far as billing.  That is this time.

 

I fill out returns that are not simple, and have been doing them for around 35 years.  I can beat Turbo Tax.

Since it is too late to e-file a 2018 state return and you have been unable to download the software, perhaps you would be happier just getting the form from your state and preparing it by hand.  It has to be mailed in, since e-filing for 2018 closed permanently as of October 15, 2019.

I'm not on ax Benefits records- " contact TurboTax", this is turning out to be a unexpected feat.

 

Hey give me, a me, electronic phone prompt,  all your info we already have, again.  Oh I dont recognize your info please give me more info.  YIKEs. This sucks.  Might just go with a living CPA this year.  Signed up with MAX Benefits, not even a year later, no help so far.   However, someone had been soft pinging my credit report every two weeks, I suspect MaxBenefits.

 

[phone number removed]- its irritating to get to the call back stage, but I do expect a call back, that is hopeful.

Screw this, I just went over to the states website and got the forms and instructions from them.  By the time Turbo Tax pulls their head out, I will be done with the simple form...

I am happier, and yes, it is understood that e filing is done for 2018.
