If you chose to have them withdraw from your bank account, generally, the funds are withdrawn on the payment date you specified if your return has been accepted. If you still don't see the debit 7-10 days after your return has been accepted and your specified date, you will need to call the IRS e-file Payment Services at 1-888-353-4537, if this is a federal tax payment you owe. If you didn't specify a date, then April 15th is the default payment date.
If you did not set up your Federal payment with TurboTax you can go to the IRS website to pay. Payments
WHAT HAPPENED??? Someone at TT is not listening/reading correctly. I've told this story twice now; so please someone pay attention. I've used TT for many years; however, unless someone resolves this issue, this will be my last use of TT; and, I will tell all my friends not to use TT.
At least two weeks ago I completed & TT verified my tax return (online - deluxe) was correct. I executed the "file" function; the green check boxes filled the first two, then it stopped & stated I needed to upload a new upgrade before I could file. I checked "Notifications" and it stated, "You are up to date". I closed and saved TT. I owed monet to IRS, so I had completed all information to pay using a CREDIT CARD (not a bank account - as your reply stated!). The following day I opened TT, an update was displayed; I uploaded and then successfully filed. The IRS responded with a successful filing; however, after 2 weeks my CC account has not been debited. QUESTION: would the updated load wipe out my CC information? PLEASE someone pay attention this this request. [phone number removed]
Any information that was saved in TurboTax prior to the update should remain, after the update has taken place. I do believe what @SForrestLO was trying to clarify is, if your payment to the IRS was set on a particular date, you would not see that debit on the credit card you had saved until 7-10 business days after the date the payment was scheduled. I hope that helps.
