It is not letting me file my state return. It is saying that I need to file by mail and isn't even telling me why. Can you please explain this problem and provide a resolution?
@Kayleighlampman When did you e-file the Federal part?...and if you did, has it been "Accepted" yet?
I have not filed my federal return yet. I was wanting to file Federal and State together and have been waiting to get help on further information on what to do about my state Taxes.
I've been having the same issue as everyone else. I completed the taxes on 1/27, and was getting the same message. I was trying to find help on the Intuit site as well as Google and found nothing. Thanks to other users complaining, this error finally showed up in Google and I was able to comment on this particular post.
It's 2/1 and the issue still hasn't been resolved. Is there going to be an update, and it would make since that TurboTax sends an email to customers especially since it's a software issue.
I've been using this software since 1998 - yes I'm a long time customer. The sooner this is fixed, the better.
There was an update that hit mine lastnight and I was able to file.
Generally, I've only seen this reported for Michigan and Colorado people.
Give Customer Support a call, and get this problem added to the list. More people report the problem, and it gits more priority.....or perhaps more experienced software folks working on it. They may need a Diagnostic file from you...but they'll give directions on how to do that:

I am in Arkansas and had the issue.
Well yeah...always run an update when using Desktop software.
They rarely issue them the first 3 days of the week....except for dire emergencies.
I received the notification that @jwest3 was able to file. I tried this morning and was able to install the update and file my taxes. Finally! LOL!
It made me upgrade from free to do my taxes and my only income is disability. Then when I finished it told me I couldn't exile and had to print it out and mail it. When I called customer service the first time when the phone answered all I heard was ladies laughing nonstop for 15 minutes then I hung up and called back. When they answered the second time the lady gave no name. I asked why the program made me upgrade and she said the program had to do something and they get people calling nonstop about it, but the program would not have told me I had to upgrade if really didn't need to. Embarrassing Customer Service. Think next year I'll go back to Hawitt Jackson, at least they never disrespected me when I asked a question and they had real answers.
