Fail to import tax form from e-trade using turbotax 2021 primier desktop

The problem is the people answering the phones and answering questions here are doing it from wikis. They are not escalating repeated issues. Or rather there is probably no appetite to deploy any type of fix this year (besides putting the work on the customers) and it's probably just cross your fingers for next year.

I had struggled in the past several days getting the same "No tax related info" during importing, I talked to E*Trade customer care but they had no idea. 

Magically, this E*Trade importing issue went away today. I was able to import from E*Trade this morning.

I like how Turbotax wants you to choose an emoji at the beginning about you feel about doing your taxes. But there is no "vomit after working on it for 3 weeks trying to troubleshoot all the issues" emoji. This has been the absolute worst year ever (used for over 15 years) despite INTU making record profits.

We need to inform our friends and family know of this issue regarding Turbotax and E*Trade, the more people aware of the problem we have a better chance Turbotax and E*Trade would put more resource to solve the issue, either that our they would not making that kind of profit again next year. I did a research on TaxAct and they have an option for you to download the 1099 csv from E*Trade then upload to your tax form, just incase something like this hapens, that is not an option at TurboTax.

Still facing the same issue.

Tried importing from 1099-B section , it has issue from all sections.

Why TT is not taking inititative to fix this issue ....this should have been tried before they release their tax software itself.

I see this had the issue last year as well and they don't do anything about it ?

I think Etrade has the problem because my Turbo Tax  has worked with Ameritrade, Coinbase and Robinhood when i uploaded my tax documents but i cant upload my 1099B from Etrade to Turbo  Tax.  It is the only one that is causing problem and this is horrible because i have over 3,000 trades and theres no way i can do this manually. If they cant fix this one this week beause we are few days away from the tax deadline, i would definitely not use Etrade for my trade trading activities. What a shame Etrade!

Can you show us how you did it because i am using the Premier and i cant see the Morgan Stanley Bank as an option. If see this, i would also do the same way you did and be done with it. I have over 3K trades and theres no way i could do this manually unless i am willing to spend several weeks on my taxes. Thanks

Its not etrade's problem.  

Folks at Etrade found the small print item from Turbo Tax.  

Turbo Tax caps trades at 10k and 4k for non covered options.   They need to put that on the box that their product is not for high frequency traders.

Turbotax needs to allow downloadable attachment, if they're ridiculously not going to fix Etrade/Turbotax compatibility issue!!  BOO Turbotax. Pathetic. Taxes are your one and only job!

QUESTION for TURBOTAX EXPERTS- 1099B from Etrade wont download into Turbotax, after MONTHS trying! Error message: no tax info in Etrade account. We're Reporting MASSIVE disallowed wash sale losses. Form 8453 requiring Entire 128 page Etrade 1099B be submitted by mail separately is triggered, ONLY when already reported wash sale number is inputted manually on Turbotax.  No other CG/L amounts trigger form.  If reported disallowed wash sale amount has already been reported to the IRS, WHY in the World do we need to send in additional 128 pages of line by line sales??

I finally got it to download after starting to type in the url for etrade login screen and then selected the broker that popped up. I don't know why this works and nothing else. Also, I had to ask for a refund for my desktop/downloaded turbotax because I had to switch to the online version which is far superior (you can attach your 1099 on that version).

It only asks login id and password

i already submitted, but when it asks you to search for your broker, in the search bar start typing in the url. https://us.etrade.com/e/t/user/login  and then choose that broker that shows up. For some reason it imported it when i did it this way. I took this idea from someone on another thread about this etrade problem and it worked.
