Same issue filing from Kenya and never had it before in six years of filing from abroad! Thank you for this solution. Entering a relative's US phone number on the Intuit Account section worked for me. I just ignored the verification step. Then I was able to successfully efile my returns.

Adding here- there are two spots you enter 'phone number' not just on info but on bottom left screen 'Turbo info' it will take you a separate screen where you can enter a US number, had to try this for hours, (have a parent or friend or family use) - re: I'm US citizen living in UK.

Hope you got this fixed, there are two spots to input phone numbers, try one more time, there is 'general' then an account area where you can input.

The online link is your best option to track your refund.  I have attached a link with more answers from the IRS as to why your refund may be taking longer to process.

Same problem here! Even though I've had a foreign number for years on my Intuit account without problems, it will only allow you to file if you have a ten-digit number verified with them (US or Canada). Even then, initially it didn't work for me; contrary to what is posted above, the number must be verified.

These are the steps I had to take:

1. Sign up for a US-based phone number using TextNow;
2. Enter the number into my Intuit Account and verify it;
3. Log out and sign back in;
4. File the return;
5. Switch the registered Intuit Account number back to your real mobile number to ensure you won't be locked out in the future.

You need a US phone number.

If you don’t know anyone in the US whose number you can use, you have to sign up for one through Skype or somewhere else. But first check if they’ve fixed it. It’s a ridiculous problem.

Any idea how or where to go to update my phone number? We are stationed overseas, but currently stateside. I've never had an issue e-filing, and don't see anywhere in TurboTax to update a phone number (which is a stateside number while we are here, by the way.) I am at a loss. I've been trying to submit it for 2 - 3 days now.
