In most cases, once the IRS has accepted your return, there's not much you can do. If the information you provided is for a closed or invalid account, the government will mail you a refund check.
What if I entered the wrong bank account for direct deposit
Contacted IRS entered wrong bank account number. They deposited into your bank but they have not gotten the rejected deposit
Need info from you regarding where my deposit is
If your tax return has already been accepted it is too late to change your bank information. See our FAQ regarding Entering the wrong direct deposit information.
Last year in most cases, many filing taxes received their refund in less than 3 weeks. Go to Where's my Refund to track your refund. Keep in mind, in an attempt to protect individual tax filers, the PATH act was put in place. This may be causing a slight delay for many tax filers. You can also contact the IRS directly for more information regarding the status of your refund.
Does this IRS "Where's My Refund" tool say your funds have actually been sent?

IF SO >>>
Were you having the refund direct deposited to your bank account directly ?
If the IRS has actually sent the funds, the IRS FAQ page says to allow "up to 5 days" due to variations in bank processing procedures and times.
If so did you enter the correct routing & account number for an ACH transfer ? Here is how you can see your deposit information:
Your direct deposit information will be at the bottom of your Form 1040.

I entered right account number but got sent to wring account
@Doriemoore71 You can try calling the IRS, if your refund went to a incorrect account but you entered the correct information. What should happen is, the incorrect bank should reject the deposit and send it back to the IRS. The IRS would then issue a paper check and send it to the address listed on the tax return.
You can find more information on the IRS website below:
Hey, just wanted to say I am in the exact same boat.
Our refund and stimulus went to the wrong account. TurboTax keeps telling me I must have entered the wrong account information, but I don't see how I could have entered the complete routing number and working bank account number for a bank we have never used and isn't anywhere close to our actual account & routing numbers. We've used TurboTax since 2014 and never had a problem.
The IRS has confirmed that our refund was deposited on February 26th and the 3rd stimulus was deposited on March 17th. They said neither deposit was rejected. The IRS says I have to wait 5 weeks to put a trace on the money, but that I have to place a trace on each one separately, meaning I can place a trace on the refund this Friday, and then stimulus in April.
I have been so frustrated that no one has been able to provide me with any answers or explanations and continue to try to make it seem like I did something wrong here. I have no answers for you either, but just wanted to say you're not alone.
