E-Filling is closed for 2018 year?

While filing my 2019 taxes it showed that I never did my 2018 so no problem turbo tax said all i would need to do was buy this 2018 turbo tax "cd" and download it for 69.99$. I did so filed everything for that year and now it said e-filling is closed for that year and I need to mail in my tax return for 2018.  I guess my question is do I have to mail it in so i can finish my 2019 tax return since it was rejected the first time for 2018 not being filed or will e-filing be open for 2018 year soon?

E-filing is closed forever for 2018.  You have to print it, sign it and mail it.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

Where would I be mailing it to? I do get a return will the IRS take out the "bill" from the tax return? Do i now have to wait for 2018 to process through the mail for turbo tax to accept my 2019 taxes?

Go to this IRS website for mailing addresses - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment

There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.  If you have taxes owed pay the taxes using the IRS payment website - https://www.irs.gov/payments

No you do not have to wait for the IRS to process the 2018 tax return before the IRS will accept the 2019 tax return.

When you are ready to efile 2019 this year then you will use 0 for the 2018 AGI since you didn't file it before Oct last year.  The IRS won't have your 2018 AGI on file to verify.   You don't have to file 2018 before you file 2019.  Each year is separate.

The IRS no longer accepts efile transmissions for tax year 2018. Efiled returns are no longer accepted in any tax year after the extension deadline in mid-October. In order to complete the prior year return, you will need to mail in a paper copy.

If your 2019 return was rejected, it may have to do with the reporting of your 2018 AGI (adjusted gross income). Reporting AGI is a security feature to help ensure the safety of your information and return when filing. You should file your taxes sequentially for best results. The IRS will begin processing efiled returns for 2019 on January 27, 2020. However, you can complete your 2019 return prior to that date and submit. The file will be transferred to the IRS by TurboTax when they have opened the filing season.

In the link below, you will find the address to mail your 2018 tax return based on where you live.

Alright because this is my second time trying to file for this year and only thing i assume that they rejected for was the 2018 year was not filed.

First, your 2018 tax return cannot be e-filed. It has to be filed by mail. You'll need to print out your return, sign it and mail it to the address indicated by TurboTax on the cover page. Only current year's returns can be e-filed.

Second, the IRS will not reject your 2019 tax return because your 2018 tax return was not filed. The IRS treats each year's return separately. Your 2019 tax return was rejected because something is missing or something does not match the IRS database.

Please read this TurboTax Help article on how to fix a rejected return.
