Does anyone have a 1099DIV from Nokia? The Payer's Federal ID Number is all Zeros and it keeps getting kicked back. What is the solution? Thank You.

You can contact the issuer or the form to get this number.

I contacted Nokia Corporation at their USA number.  The rep. said Nokia was not incorporated in the United States.  The Federal ID No. would be all zeros, or all nines.  I've tried using each one and TurboTax still will not allow for electronic filing.

Google tells me that the Nokia EIN is 22-3408857.  You can try using that.

I found another post that said to leave the Payer's Federal ID Number blank.  That worked for me.  TurboTax accepted leaving that field blank and  the electronic file was submitted.

I think in 2024, it's ridiculous that TurboTax has not fixed this problem or offered a help screen indicating to try all zeros,  all nines, or leaving it blank.  The posts have inidcated this has been an issue for many years.

This problem still exists in 2025, specifically for Nokia. Apparently, because Nokia is incorporated in Finland, the 1099R shows the TIN with all zeroes, which TurboTax will not accept. Does anyone know if leaving the field blank will work this year?

The Payers TIN on a Form 1099-DIV or a Form 1099-INT is not required for e-filing the tax return.  If the program gives an error then click on the button to access the form and then leave it as is and Continue.  Then do not run Smart Check again.

Yes, oddly leaving it blank is acceptable. While super aggravating that TurboTax doesnt recognize the error and suggest a remedy it is really more the fault of Citibank for entering the value for the FEIN as all zeroes.
